On September 15th, 2026, I performed my new show, “The Sound of Swing,” solo piano for residents in the Independent Living section at The Terraces. The show was an hour long, filled with swinging tunes like All of Me, Tangerine, My Ideal, Over the Rainbow, Etc…

This performance was the first performance that I have done for independent living so far. It was a new environment to perform in, and that is always exciting. Playing for new faces in a new space is the thrill of performance.

Throughout the performance, I tried to make sure I was communicating with the audience in any way I could; I find that it tends to help with audience engagement, especially at retirement homes. When you talk to the audience, they always remember you, and if they remember you, they want to see you again.
